I offer counselling in a private secluded garden space or online where appropriate.

This counselling is informed by the principles and practise of mindfulness, acceptance and body-mind integration as well as an awareness of our interconnectedness. We explore feelings and attitudes, recognising and moving through fears and inhibitions with the aim of authenticity and transformation.

I am continually amazed at the unique potential and strength of each individual, with no two sessions alike. In assessing individual needs, I will also look, and hopefully draw out, individual dreams, resources and strengths.

A listening and reflective presence is always essential in counselling. I also use techniques of mindfulness, visualization, focusing on sensation and associated memories. These can be particularly helpful with anxiety, burnout and stress.

My background

I bring thirty years of counselling experience to my practice: a BSc and MA in psychology, twenty five years mindfulness training (Satipatthana) and Somatic movement (Amerta movement) which I studied in Java and the UK (SuPrapto and Dr Sandra Reeve). A further influence has been Hakomi (eighteen month’s study), a body centred psychotherapeutic practice that supports clients in experiencing their core patterns, moving through traumas and blocks and discovering their own unique choices and potential.

Prior to counselling, I was a social worker for eight years, a family mediator, and a part time Open University tutor for three.

I completed a practitioner training in eco-shamanism (with Mandy Pullen) three years ago.

Nature and creativity are ongoing sources of inspiration for me. These are profoundly important both personally and in the outdoor counselling in the secluded garden and woods. It is surprising how the visiting birds and sometimes the deer shift the sessions.

Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task. I offer free introductory chats if people would prefer to meet before starting the process.

For face to face sessions, I am based in Ruspidge, (Cinderford) in the Forest of Dean.

I offer online counselling.

£55 per one hour session.
